  Installation:

Unzip all files to a directory and run:

     Multipost.exe

The five steps to Multipost happiness:

  1. Click the "Identity" button and fill in your
name, e-mail, reply-to and organisation fields.
You can leave any or all of these blank if you
     prefer to remain anonymous.

  2. Click the "Server" button and fill in the
address of your news server. The server port
should be left as 119 unless you know that your
server uses a different port. If your news
server requires authenticated login then also
     enter your name and password.

  3. Click the "Groups" button and add at least one
group by entering the name in the text box at
the bottom of the panel and clicking "Add". You
can add as many groups as you want, and tick
whichever ones you want to post to.

  4. Click the "Subject" button and enter the subject
template you wish to use, or leave the default
setting. Use the buttons to insert the
respective template strings. ("Directory" is the
name of the directory that a file is in.)

  5. Locate the files you want to post, add them to
your posting queue, and then click the "Go!"
     button.

How to use the posting queue:

Multipost uses an interface similar to Windows
Explorer. Using the directory tree on the left of
the window, find the directory containing the files
you wish to post. The files will then be listed in
  the top-right panel.

To queue all of the files in the directory, click
the "Queue All" button. If the directory contains
sub-directories but you only want to queue the
files, click the "Queue Files" button. If you only
want to add some of the files, select the ones you
want to queue and click the "Queue Selected"
  button.

Note that in Multipost, directories listed in the
top-right panel are treated as collections of
files. If you add a directory to your posting
queue, what you will actually add are all of the
files in that directory, and of course all of the
  files in any sub-directories, etc.

  Other points to remember:

Once a file has been added to your posting queue,
you can still change its subject and which
newsgroups it will be posted to. Simply select the
file and then click the "Subject" or "Groups"
button. You can also change settings for multiple
  files.

You can double-click on a file or directory to add
it to the posting queue, or press "Enter" when one
or more are selected in the file list. You can
remove one or more files from the posting queue by
pressing "Delete" when they are selected.

  Known problems:

Some people have reported that this version of
Multipost doesn't work properly on Win2k, with the
file list not displaying correctly. I haven't been
able to track down what is causing this problem as
I don't have access to a Win2k system, and the
error seems to be somewhat random. I'll aim to fix
the problem as soon as I know what is causing it.
